Overview
Time-blocking and daily schedule management inside Obsidian. Write a time-blocked plan in your daily note and see it rendered as a visual timeline in the sidebar. It is useful for time-blocking a day from tasks or schedule entries stored in notes. The practical value is a repeatable workflow that remains visible in ordinary Markdown or Obsidian's own interface, rather than an isolated feature added without a plan.
How to Install Day Planner
- 1Open Obsidian Settings, select Community plugins, and confirm Restricted mode is disabled.
- 2Search the community catalog for Day Planner, install it, and enable it.
- 3Open the plugin settings and review its defaults before using it on existing notes.
- 4Test the workflow in a copied note or disposable vault, then inspect the resulting files.
How to Use Day Planner
Create a short test plan with explicit times, open the timeline view, and adjust formatting until the blocks match the day before adopting it in a daily-note template.

A Safe First Workflow
Create a short test plan with explicit times, open the timeline view, and adjust formatting until the blocks match the day before adopting it in a daily-note template.
Limits and Checks
- A planned timeline does not automatically reflect external calendar changes, and overly detailed schedules become expensive to maintain.
- Keep a recoverable vault backup before enabling automation or bulk changes.
