Overview

A Google Calendar-style interface inside Obsidian. Reads events from daily notes, tasks, and external ICS feeds (Google, Outlook, iCloud) in weekly or monthly views. It helps when dated notes or events need a calendar view inside the vault. The practical value is a repeatable workflow that remains visible in ordinary Markdown or Obsidian's own interface, rather than an isolated feature added without a plan.

How to Install Full Calendar

  1. 1Open Obsidian Settings, select Community plugins, and confirm Restricted mode is disabled.
  2. 2Search the community catalog for Full Calendar, install it, and enable it.
  3. 3Open the plugin settings and review its defaults before using it on existing notes.
  4. 4Test the workflow in a copied note or disposable vault, then inspect the resulting files.

How to Use Full Calendar

Start with a local calendar and one event source. Create an event, confirm which note and properties were written, then add read-only external calendars only when you understand how each source is represented.

When Full Calendar Helps

It helps when dated notes or events need a calendar view inside the vault.

A Safe First Workflow

Start with a local calendar and one event source. Create an event, confirm which note and properties were written, then add read-only external calendars only when you understand how each source is represented.

Limits and Checks

  • External calendar behavior depends on the configured source, and a calendar view should not be treated as the only copy of important scheduling data.
  • Keep a recoverable vault backup before enabling automation or bulk changes.
